Sablé Sweets began in Qatar in 2020 and chose Rotterdam for its first address abroad. The shop on Nieuwe Binnenweg has become a neighbourhood fixture, exceptionally well reviewed, known for the Spring Sablé. Its customers arrive expecting a certain standard of care. In the pastry, in the box, in everything that carries the name.
A patisserie of this standard is judged before anyone tastes anything. More customers were meeting the brand on a screen first, and that first impression had to earn the same trust as the counter. It also had to work for a city that shops in more than one language, on a phone, at any hour of the evening.
03 · Approach
We designed for restraint. Photography leads and the words step aside. The catalogue is ordered the way a customer chooses in the shop, not the way a system happens to store it. Language switching sits where an international audience looks for it. Every choice on the page was measured against one question: would this feel right inside the shop.
