Druzen Gemeenschap Nederland is a community initiative in the Netherlands. Its work is announcements, gatherings, and the practical business of keeping people connected — the kind of organisation where every hour spent on administration is an hour taken away from the people it serves. Its community does not all read the same language, and does not all live in the same place. Whatever the organisation publishes has to work for everyone at once.
Community work runs on trust and attention. Information people needed was scattered across places they had to be told about. Anyone willing to attend, register, or give had no obvious first step. And an organisation like this holds details that are simply not for the public, so a digital presence had to earn its place without ever becoming a liability.
03 · Approach
The first decision was restraint. A community's information belongs to that community, so the public surface was designed to say exactly what it should and nothing beyond it — sensitive detail is absent by design, not hidden behind a setting. The rest followed from how the organisation actually works: one address for news and information, a short path for anyone who wants to take part, and giving presented in the languages people use. The infrastructure is managed on the organisation's behalf, so no volunteer inherits a system to look after.
